Experiences of the SICAP Research Seeding in the Development of Soft Skills
(Institución Universitaria Pascual Bravo, 2017) Lemmel, Karen; Rivero Mejía, Saúl Emilio; Ocampo, Carlos Alberto
The research seeding in applied sciences (SICAP) has the determination to improve specific skills but also develop soft skills in the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students from the Pascual Bravo University Institution. One of that specific skills is machine and product design. On this occasion are shown activities from mechanical conceptual design resolved by work groups, following some elements from Cross Methodology (only the stages tree of objective, Functional analysis, Morphological diagram and weighted objectives) mixed whit traditional research methodologies, all joint whit activities that allow to conduct experiments, make decisions, team work, time management, develop communications and creative skills. The specific skills were evaluated by the finished of the conceptual design but the acquisition of soft skills was evaluated using a survey, as result the competences that most favor the methodology for designing prototypes in the SICAP research seedling are decision-making and communication with the work group and between colleagues.

Assessment of the relationship between magnetotransport and magnetocaloric properties in nano-sized La0.7Ca0.3Mn1-xNixO3 manganite
(Institución Universitaria Pascual Bravo, 2018) Gómez, Adrián; Chavarriaga, Edgar; Izquierdo, J.L.; Prado Gonjal, Jesús; Mompean, F.; Rojas, Nestor; Morán, O.
The effect of Ni2+substitution on the magneto-transport properties and the concomitant relationship with the magnetocaloric function of nano-sizedLa0.7Ca0.3Mn1−xNixO3(x = 0, 0.02, 0.07, and 0.10) perovskite manganites are reported. All the samples were synthesized using the auto-combustion method. X-raydiffraction analysis studies confirmed the phase purity of the synthesized samples. The substitution of Mn3+ions with Ni2+ions in the La0.7Ca0.3MnO3lattice wasalso verified using this technique. Rietveld analysis indicated that the volume of the unit cell increased with increasing Ni2+content. Zero-field-cooled andfield-cooled magnetization showed that all samples underwent a paramagnetic-ferromagnetic phase transition, which was concomitant with a metal-insulator transition.

Ecuaciones de Sintonía para Controladores PID usando la Minimización del Error y de la Varianza de la Señal del Controlador como la Función Objetivo
(Institución Universitaria Pascual Bravo, 2019) Portnoy, Ivan D.; Verdeza, Arnaldo; Lenis, Yuhan A.; Sanjuán, Marco E.

Comparison of alumina ball size distribution in two white cement grinding units using Swebrec function
(Institución Universitaria Pascual Bravo, 2019) Chica Osorio, Lina María; Rivera, Ismael Eduardo; Rincón Fulla, Marlon; Osorio, Adriana Marcela; Bustamante, Moisés Oswaldo; Menendez Aguado, Juan María
The results of characterizing the alumina ball size distribution in two mills of a crushing and grinding plant are shown. Themills were unloaded and the ball charge was screened in order to establish the ball size distribution. For both mills, the balls retained during the unloading were compared to the balls retained at the beginning of the process, and additionally, they were compared to the results obtained by the Swebrec adjusted distribution model. In both cases, the experimental data have had a good fit with this model. This practice is important in order to establish the best ball charge at the beginning of the operation and the ball recharge in the steady state.

Self-learning Guide for Bioloid Humanoid Robot Assembly with Elements of Augmented Reality to Support Experiential Learning in Sauro Research Seeding
(Institución Universitaria Pascual Bravo, 2019) Lemmel Vélez, Karen; Valencia Hernandez, Carlos Alberto
A self-learning guide for assembly robots BIOLOID PREMIUM in human form is presented, where elements of augmented reality are included in order to facilitate the process of assembly and manipulation of prototypes. This guide was evaluated with students belonging to the research seeding SAURO (research seeding in Automation and Robotics) of the Institución Universitaria Pascual Bravo.

Interfacial Analysis in AZ31B Magnesium Alloy Reinforced with Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes
    (Institución Universitaria Pascual Bravo, 2019) Isaza M, Cesar A.; Herrera Ramirez, J. M.; Cardona Maya, Y.; Carreno Gallardo, C.; Meza, J. M.
Metal matrix composites (MMCs) have applications in many industries. In particular, magnesium alloys and composites are interesting for both scientific research and commercial applications because of their low density
